India of 1940s when independence struggle was at its peak. Who knew that it would become a black market of consciousnesses in 2045, at least not the ones who gained us that freedom. Or did we gain freedom at all? Janak was walking in the India of 1943 at Connaught Place wearing his time teleportation device on his wrist. This device made the wearer teleport at any point in time in human history. There were two principles combined in the device, time travel and teleportation. You know what the thing about teleporation is? That it kills you and then produces the same copy of you that it killed at a different location. It destroys you and then recreates you at the teleporation location. You feel the same, you remember the time when the teleportation was initiated and when you reach the location where you teleported you feel as if you were transported, but the truth is that what goes in is dead and what comes out is a new life. It converts you into stardust and then fashions a new you again with stardust. Janak walked the Delhi of 1943, they were wanting to know whether the technology of consciousness control and copying was present in 1943 or not. They were rogue time activists who stole the time traveling technology by luck and now they want to find out since when consciousness control is being practiced in India. In 2045 slavery is rampant in India. Indians are sold to Arabs and the Westerners as neurological slaves and pleasure pets by Indian slave owners. Copies of consciousnesses of Indian citizens are sold in the international black market. Neurological slavery is impossible to break and once a neurological slave, always a slave. In 1943 Janak walks past a building which the chief had flagged, it was the building of British Radio. It was the most probable place from where consciousness control was being propagated. He took out the bomb and placed it carefully making sure when it explodes it takes out the whole building. Janak was unaware that this very act by him would grant India its freedom but it was of no use as just after independence the consciousness of Indian people would go under the control of extortionists and private contractors.
