Poem

Clouds floating slowly

In the moonlit sky,

Trees glow like neon

And snow is like radium,

The chilly wind is piercing the bones,

The warmth of fire reminds of home,

Away from the city here I rode,

Away from the home to my hill abode.

Poem

discovered her love is a lie,

and mine too,

a negative and a negative make a positive,

does a lie and a lie make a truth?

Poem

I look at my fingers

And thank my cigarettes

It’s a condition called clubbing

I take deep breaths

Instead of shallow ones

Especially when i smoke

The tobacco stains

On my fingers

Are fossils

They are remnants

Of pain and those dark nights

When i used to drown in a sea of smoke

I smoke my worries away

Sitting in the balcony

Under the stars

I fill my lungs with tar

And invite cancer

Ironically my sun-sign

Poem

The biggest lie I've ever told is that I'm fine
It's not easy to speak the truth
When your life is a whirlpool
The least you want to do
Is to pull someone else
In the unending abyss
You're falling
Just say I'm fine
And let people be in their happy dreams
Deal with your darkness
Your feverish stupor
Alone
Because a very few can help you
And they won't necessarily be there
When you need them

Poem

There was a time
When we were together
When we were in love
There was a time
When nothing else mattered
Except you and me
There was a time
When the world was absent
Only we were present
There was a time
When a smile upon your face
Used make my day
And now, it's all lost
Buried deep somewhere
In the heap of memories
There was a time
And then there is now

Poem

The companionship of friends
And long meaningful conversations
The unconditional love of mothers
And happy faces of little children

Snow laden pine trees
A smoke, and the smell of tea
The view of hills from a glass window in winter
A fireplace, a coffee and a book to read

Innocent love and its sweet nothings
The march of clouds in the sky
The scent of raindrops falling on the soil
And little joys of life―make me smile

Poem

The farmer
Drenched in sweat
Standing in the field
Looking up at the sky
Ponders
When will the rain gods have mercy
When will the thirst of his soil be quenched
There is a hope
And there is fear
But there are no clouds
In the sky
He prays to the gods
With his hands folded
Covered in sweat
In that barren land

Poem

I will survive
She screamed in top of her voice
The rain dampened her last words
As she lost herself in the white noise

She went with a hope
That she would stay
But it was her end
And there was no other way

She didn't give in to darkness
Even in the end
She fought her way to death
She chose to break than to bend

Poem

We are leaves
Of the tree of life
One day the tree will shed us
And we will be one with the soil
But until then we have to sway
With the breeze of circumstances
Be in union with the tree
And add to its beauty

Poem

The chaos in the universe
Reflected in the mind
Thoughts trying to attain order
Finding ways to attain peace

There were days when peace was ample
But now it's nowhere to be found
The days go by in search of calm
Trying to achieve a little comfort

May be the day will come
When there is stillness
When the tranquility is restored
Till that day all I have to do, is to fight my demons

Poem

If I had a time machine
I would go back and make things right
In times I lost my strength
I will stand up and give it a fight

The times have changed
And I live in the city of now
I don't regret much
But I love too much and how

The city of now is best place to be
Living here gives me a chance of redemption
The time machine is just a wishful thinking
A wish of a mind that craves perfection

Poem

Let's cook some love
The passion in our hearts
Is the right ingredient
Let's burn together
In the flames of desire
So that no one can douse the fire
Let's drown our pain
In the river of our intimacy
And swim across the ocean of life

Poetry

 A work in progress

A daily reminder

A dirty washbasin

A broken grinder

A man in his shorts

Lying on the bed

Motionless and still

As if he is dead.

Life is hard

When it is mundane

Time passes slowly

And so does pain.

Faulty lines

 That was a time

In ancient rome

When gladiators were made to fight

Now when stranger things come to light

They are shown the black mirror

Black boys with glasses

Still can read

Jokes on the long gone

Make the living dead

Observe carefully

Mistakes are made by everybody

Not everyone pays

That’s kind of sad

Poetry

 The call of the mountains

Echoing in the nature,

Snow laden peaks

Glowing in the moonlit sky.

The jungles in the mountains

Hiding a thousand secrets

Within their thick cover

Are hauntingly calm.

I wake up in the cold

Fire in the fireplace dwindling

And look through the glass window

At the twinkling stars.

Poetry

 There are spaces between us

Vast, unyielding spaces

But there is a hope

That our hearts are still connected

With that invisible string of love.

In a hope that we are still connected

I send you my love

That will probably reach you

Crossing all the distance

Traversing all the spaces.

I was lost without you

But now I have found my way,

We found love together

It was like magic,

And I hope you still believe in magic.

poetry

 The mind concots stories

To save the self from self

And then you grow up

To realize that all these stories

Are lies, just like the world.

Reality is different for every eye,

And you bid your delusion a goodbye.

Poetry

The heart sinks

Deeper than a coffin

Filled with stones.

The pain sneaks stealthily

Like a clever thief,

Stealing the bliss.

It's that time of the day again

When sadness looms

And I try to fight it

With make-believe happiness.

Poetry

 I know what pain is

I know how it is to drown in sorrow

To feel gut wrenching emotions

And to get overwhelmed

Grief is like a ghost

Pursuing you every step

Climbing on your shoulders

And wearing you down

I just keep untangling

The threads of past, Undoing knots,

Trying to arrange the emotions

neatly and healing the self

Poetry

I relinquish

My birth

My laugh punctuating

The feeling of freedom

In my heart

Shadow of the past

Can lurk as much as it wants

I have broken the chains

I am free of the ego

I relinquish myself

And now I am free to fly

Towards distant horizons

To explore new destinations

उफान

सपने टूटते हैं  तो दिल टूट जाता है, दर्द का दरिया उमड़ता है कभी, कभी गुस्से का उफान, खालीपन सा घर कर लेता है  सीने में और फिर हम फिर उस खालीप...
